Ultimate mega super update!
Back from our little tour/vacation. I haven't had so much fun in a really long time.
San Antonio, tx (4 hour drive): We played with our friends Bukkake Daydream at a place called limelight. Victor (bukkake bass player) always puts on great shows, pays us well, and shows us a really great time. We got to experience the Primus live DVD (TWICE!), Bubble Tea, Locals on 'shrooms, a local sandwich and gaming shop, and probably the most comfortable couch in the world (that I never seem to get to sleep on).
Lafayette, LA (8 1/2 hour drive): We played with The White Horse Tabernacle and Smiley with a Knife at a place called the Artmosphere. I found my long lost twin brother, hagled for a hotel room, took some very inibriated photos, and over-dosed on the Cosby Show.
Atlanta, GA (9 hour drive): Getting to stay with our friends O'Brother is always the greatest! Getting our show in Athens cancelled was incredibly discouraging. But we fought back! Called all the venues in Atlanta and jumped on a show at the last minute. We played with a bunch of cheesy bands. The kind you would see touring all the yaught clubs in America. But the venue took great care of us. Free food, free beer, and incredible live sound. So we were more than happy.
Greenwood, SC (3 1/2 hour drive): We took a last minute show in a tiny town in South Carolina with our friends in Y/our Sparkle Heart. This is probably one of the prettiest towns I've ever seen. Everything was perfect about it. Except perhaps the overflow of Christian judgement. And we had our biggest crowd on the entire tour. After we played we went to our friend Ian's house for pizza and to record a live acoustic version of our newest song. Then....a crazy 22 hour drive back home. Straight.
Driving 22 hours was bad. But.....not THAT bad. Trying to sleep in the car was impossible, though.
I watched Nick and Norah's infinite playlist. Pretty cute. A little too "indie is the new cool," but I still enjoyed it.
