So I live in this hick town right now and the only thing to do is to go to the auctions around here. It would seem that auctions out here is like a grand ho down. They sell food, there's tons of kids running around and everybody converses like they haven't seen eachother in a million years and they're having a grand ole time.
This particular auction is a livestock auction, you know, they sell cows, sheeps, anything basically. I was hoping that maybe they might have dogs cause I am in the market for either a registered Chinese Pug or a maybe a Pomeranian. I was sorely disappointed. After braving the scary toothless crowd and trying to ignore the gasps and mumbles of "Ma lordie ma she's got purple hair!"; I learned that all they had was some turkeys, chickens and rabbits. To top it off I drove like an hour to get to this place. Hmmmmm, not my day.
Funny, I thought places like this only existed in movies, but here I am living in a town who's welcoming sign actually says "Welcome to God's Country" and there are Baptist or Adventist churches literally every mile. Not that I am not religious myself, I am, but this still feels a bit over the top to me.....
I can't wait to get back to the west coast!
