So our housewarming party on Saturday was nice. It wasn't too crazy, there weren't too many people. It was the perfect size and amount of craziness to break in the house gently. It's what we like to call a "soft opening." Some SG folk showed up, and that was nice, you know, good ol visceral human interaction in the real world. There were old friends and new friends alike. We still have lots of booze, so there maybe a follow up party in the near future. I however will probably not be in attendance as I'm preparing to leave for 3 weeks. It's ROAD TRIP time. LA is calling me, the wild is calling me, and I must answer it. At this point I'm only running 1 day behind when I had planned on leaving, so I'm doing ok as far as actually getting out of town. But there is still much to be done! I must shave the chickens, paint the lawn, mow my toungue! And by tomorrow morning I will have wrapped up my 2nd feature film score for a local indie film. The calls for work are coming in, and I'm stoked!
So I've been working on this side project called The Killing (I encourage you all to listen at www.electronicscene.com/thekilling and let me know what you think) and we just got accepted to the New Music West Festival in Vancouver, BC. Should be fun, but man oh man my schedule fills up fast. If I don't leave town quick, I might never get out!
