I had an epiphany on the porch this evening. Mobprod and Eris and I saw Bowling For Columbine, which was more upbeat than I thought it was going to be. I thought it was good. We were talking about people and problems with the world and such, and I realized/remembered that many people are subconsciously attached to being afraid. If they can justify something to fear, they have an excuse to 'not'. Not act, not think, not be. I think a lot of people in this country are addicted to fear and it is all up in there with people's general lack of self esteem and paranoia. It made me think of my family. Sad really. Watching people find reasons to be afraid and never do things they want to do, and over time becoming so twisted and confused that in the end that they exhaust themselves running around desperately trying to fill the hole- finding or creating fires to put out that are nothing more than distractions to hide behind.
Sure makes me appreciate my friends and people who aren't that way. I'm glad to be around them.
It's a nice evening outside. Twas a nice sunset. I'm calm and happy.
