On a whim, I decided to actually leave the house tonight. Went to Java Lords for their Tuesday Open Mic and played a few songs. I'm kinda rusty--I haven't played solo in a few months and the mic pickup in my guitar is loose and rattles around distractingly (man, I should have just gone with a piezo). I've written, demo-ed and posted a new song online here: virb.com/meaningofeverything It's called "Told You So" (for now, anyway) and it'll be the first song in the player.

I like what I've done with the guitar parts--I've never really written a song with two pretty distinct pieces which fit together like that. "stn. mtn." came close, but this is a little more sophisticated than that....

It's been a few months since my last post. I've been pretty busy in the interim.

My band, Mice in Cars, will be playing our second show on Oct. 17th @ the Masquerade! Pretty stoked about this. We've got a 5 song EP we recorded last month available. Check out OurSpace for songs and such.

Okay, a few points.
A. The wedding photos you posted in the thread ( I don't even remember which one..) were pretty damn aweseome. I'm totally into the chick I'm dating now so that, apparently, makes me gay. So, um, I adore your wedding pics.
B. I make a "funny" Christmas Card every year with a "funny" picture of me every year that's become quite a hit with family and friends. I've always thought it would be really funny ( in a totally dry sense of humor way..) to do one with just the back of my head. That's funny to me. So kudos ( perhaps even mad kudos) on your profile pic. Pure, understated, awesomeness.
C. A quote from "The State" makes anyone very, very cool. Or, possibly, very, very lame..but if that's true then I have to come to terms with the idea that I am a huge nerd...so let's go with the very cool idea.

I've got a phone interview in about an hour. It's an audio engineer job with a company that records on-hold messages, mostly for hospitals. It'd probably be good work, but I already have two other part time jobs. Do I need/can I swing a third? I'd be working probably seven days a week.
