so, i made it across the country safely. i had no batteries for my camera for most of the trip, so i used my fone. we'll see how those turn out. this country truly has some AWESOME, in the purest sense of the word, landscapes, and i feel greatly blessed in being able to witness it.
one of my favourite parts of the trip was when i took US-50 through Nevada, where it is known as "The Loneliest Highway". it really is pretty sparsely populated. i'm also convinced that you don't need actually people to have a town in Nevada, just a marker. i definitely drove by some towns that consisted of nothing more than a sign and some abandoned RVs. i guess it truly is a state that is "Boom or Bust".
beautiful trips aside, as soon as i got to SF, i had to fly right back to DC. my mum's condition is severely worsened. *sigh*, there's just no telling how much time. i'm really caught between wanting to be in SF so my mum can be part of the experience of me setting up my practise there, and knowing that she derives great comfort from having me around her in DC (Annapolis). so i guess i'll just continue to put career plans on hold and fulfil my duties as a son. and hope that i'm doing the right thing.
i know i always say this, but i really mean it - pics coming soon. lots.
rokknroll...

i'm happy you made it, but of course it's terrible that your mom is worse.
