EXCUSED ABSENCES
i can't believe how much i've fallen off this site! my deepest apologies. i have truly been a busy, busy bee. this past year has brought so much change. as you all know, i finished law school, and then i took and passed the bar. much bigger than that, though, has been my mother fighting cancer. i've been taking care of her, and that has really taken a lot of time. so i hope you all forgive my long absences.
in any event, we have decided that it's high time i follow through on what i set out to do - become a California environmental attorney. the last year, i've been living and working in the DC area (living in Annapolis, working in Fairfax, and keeping a fellowship in DC proper). but i took the CA bar, and my dream has been to move to SF (and eventually back to Germany, of course
) as my mum nears her final moments, we have decided that it would be great if she could see me fulfil that dream.
ANNAPOLIS - CLEVELAND - SOUTH BEND - OMAHA - DENVER - SALINAS/SALT LAKE - RENO - SAN FRANCISCO
tomorrow (or maybe the next day, depending on how the rest of my packing goes), i set out for California. i'll be driving cross-country solo in about 7 days, which i think should be pretty easy. my planned stops are Cleveland, South Bend, Omaha, Denver, either Salinas or Salt Lake City, and Reno.
so if anyone in between has an idea for something fun to do, or would like to help me break my highway hypnosis (have coffee, tea, just chill), drop me a line.

I'm in York, Nebraska right now, which sets me up for a nice short drive to Westminster, CO tomorrow. i decided to keep driving when i reached Omaha, and even blazed past Lincoln. that's a little story that i'll recount at a future date. if i werent' so damneed tired, i'd say a ot of stuff. but it's 0500, and i'm bushed.
