i'm a particularly blessed person...every few days, someone comes up to me and gives me an unexpected compliment. i guess i could expect them, since this happens fairly frequently, but each one is really a delightful surprise.

today's random compliment? it's a funny one.

so, last thursday i went out for my first night of drinking in 3 months (total abstinence during boxing season). i was BOMBED off my ass. to illustrate, i spent over 100$ on booze (in South Bend, IN mind you), and nobody knows what happened to me after i left with a party of people at about 1am (i blacked out earlier than that). but that's all setup...

the compliment is that i am an excellent conversationalist when i'm drunk. apparently, i drew a bunch of people into a deep conversation about morality and justice and such and despite my hammered state, was still coherent and managed to avoid saying anything offensive. personally, i'm impressed with the other people - how the hell can you have a conversation about ANYTHING in a bar?! especially with a dude who's totally blue?!

maybe it's not much, but hey, it's the little things that make big smiles, eh?
