I miss not getting letters anymore, I'm not talking about getting things through the mail as I get loads of that but I'm talking about proper letters from someone who knows me well letting me know how they are getting on and what they are up to. Its all been replaced with email/txting etc which is not a bad thing and its a huge step forward but I do miss the thrill of coming in and finding that a letter has been delivered.
Emails and txts are to easy and take so little time, a good letter had to be crafted and created, it took thought and effort, as you'd only send on letter at a time to a person you tried to make sure that you got your message across rather than with email where you can send a dozen emails to keep explaining what you mean.
I miss the art of letter writing and the thrill of getting a reply back in the early 90s at university I'd send/receive 4 or 5 letters a week from the girl I was madly in love with (ahhh Emma where for art thou now, the joys of young love)
Progress is all well and good but some of the finer things in life are being lost in the heady rush forward.
Wow I must be getting old I usually wait until after Christmas to get so melancholy.
Love to you all this Christmas.
