Heh heh, welcome to silly season...
Seems like me and two of my flatmates have reverted back to childhood. Is this 'cos we know we only have about 4 months or so before we have to join The Real World? Could be, but it's amusing anyways.
In the last 2 weeks we have...
* Learned how to flush other flamate's toilets from outside their rooms (the cisterns are in cupboards in the corridors y'see). Ha ha, it's like a toilet ghost- arrgh!
*Chucked a 2 month past its sell by date cheese down 2 flights of stairs to watch it self-destruct on impact, mould and all. Mmm...
*Run around the kitchen yelling like loons at 1am most nights (and I've learned to make the coolest pterodactyl screech ever- scares the shit out of anyone)
*Gone on one-day jaunts to Birmingham, Camden and Eccleshall, all in the name of my degree. Bloody hell, it's stressful but where else could I go to a karaoke night in South Yorkshire and say it's journalism?
*Booked tix to see the Manics again on the 6th of April- whoo hoo! And ot's on the 5th anniversary of the day I met The Boy
*Oh and I did my 1st ever DJ set in the Student Union last week. I subjected everyone to Shampoo, obscure Manics B-sides and a smattering of Motown. Surprisingly, most people liked it
As for the above list, I apologise if it looks a bit "studenty". I'm the 1st to admit that stereotypical student behavior (watching Trisha in an "ironic" way/ smirkingly living on baked beans/ annoying the locals) is generally irritating. But then again, I know I'm a hypocrite, heh heh
And hell, I've been clean of my traffic cone-theft addiction for about 18 months now, apart from the time in November when I briefly fell off the wagon (and got a bollocking from the same uni security who saluted me when I bared my arse to a particularly obnoxious group of individuals in 2003)
Oh well, such is life. I seem to be finding that little quirky things keep happening. Little bite-sized pieces of fun or amusement crop up at least once a day, such as a smile from a stranger, something interesting to photograph or a really pretty puddle. I like these little joys very much and think that even if the day seems grey and listless, there's always at least one pixel of beauty or fun to be had
Have you had any mini-fun moments recently?
