I decided to say fuck going to school. I realized by going, I am only doing it because it's expected of me. Not what I want. I also realized that while I enjoyed working on aircraft that I do not want to do it for the rest of my life. Instead, I've decided to do what I want.
That would be anything and everything paintball. I am currently on a traveling ref team, where we are hired by fields to come and work their big events. These events usually attract a few hundred players, but we've all experienced games with up to 4,000 players. Decent per day rate. On top of that, I am working for a paintball magazine as a photographer/staff coordinator/gear reviewer. But the big thing that I will make the most money from is something high risk and I'm willing to do.
I've decided to begin organizing and running my own events. There are one or two huge event producers in the country for scenario paintball. Most others are regional. I'll be starting out regionally with a friend and team mate. We have a lot of work ahead of us, and will have to put in quite a bit of money and time, but I'm OK with this. I don't care if I have to live out of my explorer. It's what I want to do, and it makes me happy to some degree. Plus, we have some fantastic ideas that players should love.
