Soooo, after being in vegas for almost two years, I am on the move once more. Since I got here, I knew I wouldn't be here long because the Air Force decided to contract out my job to civilians at this base. Soooo, after waiting and waiting and watching every other shop go bye bye, I finaly know where I'm headed- Virgina! And since I'm retarded, I decided I'm going to drive there. Why am I retarded? Cause I'm going to have a huge ass truck that sucks down gas as much as a chinese hooker swallows.
With that said, it's time to plan my route. Once I get the date approved that I can leave (I requested Dec 9th), I'll apply for 15 days of leave in addition to the 7 days they will allow for travel. I have to be at my next base by Dec 31st, so I am allowing plenty of time so I can see the states I haven't visited.
Right now, my first stop is the Grand Canyon. All this time being in Vegas, I haven't been there. So I figured that I'll go there, spend the day relaxing and enjoying the view, then move out at night. My plan is to go from base to base across the country. Can stay on the bases for a night for cheap, and hit up the chow halls for cheap food. Save as much money as I can for gas. Lol.
I am taking a huge detour. Once I hit Oklahoma, I'm going to shoot up north-east. Prob Indiana. Haven't been to that part of the country. Fuck, it couldn't hurt none. With my lead foot and aggresive driving, if I were to go straight to VA, It'd prob take me 3 days to get there, so I'm going to take my time.
We'll see how this shapes up. Hopefully it'll work out. I miss the road trips I used to go on with my family. Going from northern NJ to tampa, FL in 14hrs. I hate taking the airliners. As much as I enjoy flying, there's no time to enjoy the view (ok, well, there is, but to really appreciate it there is not). They're cramped, stale air, and FUCKING BABIES! Gah...I hate kids. haha
I'm still undecided about if I want to haul a trailer with my stuff or ship it all home then they drive down with it. Choices choices.
