So this past Thursday and Friday me and 2 of my friends took a trip up to the Baseball Hall of Fame. I really didn't take anytime off of work but it still felt like a vacation, and it was super sweet. We left at 6 am and got up to Cooperstown, NY around 11:30 am. Amazingly we only hit one spot of traffic. And even that wasn't bad, it took like 20 min but we saw one car drive over the giant ditch to make a U-turn in the gravel and grass, I'm amazed he didn't flip or get stuck. And sitting in traffic too was a badass looking trucker with a ZZ Top grade beard.
We get to Cooperstown, and well first I think I have to say here, I take back 20% of the things I said about the state of New York. Apperently there is a cool part, Cooperstown, every other part of it still sucks though. It was like baseball town with bars, and amazingly only 2 New York assholes, one that tried to start some shit. We parked in a lot that had an honor system leave $10 thing going which was pretty sweet and headed to the Hall of Fame. Also suprizingly Cooperstown isn't in like any kind of big city, it's totally like 20 miles off the beaten path, which is pretty cool too. The hall of fame was pretty sweet, besides there being a bunch of people, I generally hate people and this didn't help alter my feelings. Bought some cool shit, looked at some cool shit, pissed off one dude, it was quality. We hit a bar, (were the NY asshole tried to start shit), my buddy Jim got a bat ingraved that said "The Peacemaker" (ala the film Silver Bullet), then we hit the road.
On the way back we got a hotel just to extend our vacation and in PA we hit up Indian Echo Caverns which totally fucking ruled. I really regretted not bringing my camera here even more so than forgetting it for the Hall of Fame. No cell phone pics for this one like I did in the Hall of Fame, figured it wouldn't work out too well. But I totally plan on going back, it's only like an hour and a half away from bmore. After the Cavern we hit up a diner with the biggest burger I've ever had, Soda Jerk Diner. They had shirts, the back said "I'm a Jerk" I had to buy one.
Also on the way back we stopped and saw "Extract", it was a pretty quality flick, not quite as funny as I had hoped but it was good. When we got back we drove out to Delaware to catch the last showing of "The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard" which was halarious.
Uh, I think that's all I got for now. I know there was some other shit I'm forgetting here. MOTORHEAD ON TUESDAY! IT'S GONNA BE MEGA SWEET!
