(slightly angrier, shorter version because version 1 just disappeared)
Me and Lazerninja recently went to Insubordination Fest for 3 days of sugar coated pop punk goodness. For a full rundown follow this link - Insubordination Fest 2009. Highlights or rather lowlights include, relizing how old I feel after being sore for days after, somehow getting a cold in June which I still have, and still rocking this increingly nasty looking cut/bruise on my leg/foot from the Psyched to Die set (full details in link). Besides those little hangups it was great.
Recently I found a deal I couldn't pass and bought a netbook, it's fucking great. I should have gotten one a long time ago. I can now surf any sites I want to at work wooo! The trackpad was driving me insane, I finally broke down and got a mouse today.
Just found out that fucking MOTORHEAD is playing the 9:30 club in Sept, I'm so there.
Over in the world of the mighty blog I posted my top music releases for the first half of the year, full version here -> Top 5 Music (first half of 09) . But for you lazy people here's a shorter version without the intro and such....
Iron Maiden: Flight 666 Universal Music Enterprises June 9, 2009
Its almost unfair to put any Iron Maiden release on any type of list like this because any year Iron Maiden comes out with a record its always going to be the best.
Death: For The Whole World To See Drag City February 17, 2009
This one Im really not sure if I can count it but Im going to. Recorded about 30 years ago but just released this year this is one of my favorite records out of everything I own.
The Hard-Ons With Neil Hamburger: American Exports Red Lounge April 2009
Australian rockers team up with Americas Funnyman to produce 4 songs of greatness. Its exactly what it should be. Expect a full review on the site soon with some luck.
Propagandhi: Supporting Caste Smallman March 10, 2009
Punk rockers from north of the border sneak another album over the border for us to enjoy, more metal riffs than ever before, I fucking love it.
Deep Sleep: Three Things At Once Grave Mistake Records March 6, 2009
This one is another cheat but I have a quick fix. Three things at once is a compilation from Deep Sleep of their first 3 7″s put out on one CD. But if you dont want to count this because 2/3 of the material isnt from this year you can replace this entry with Deep Sleeps Paranoid Futures, its the 7″ that came out this year and its got their best material on it anyway.
The Copyrights / The Dopamines: Songs About Fucking Up Its Alive Records
Sense I had a few cheats in here Ill throw this split in as a runner up, its good as hell.
And now, Youtube....
