Alright so its getting close to the end of March which means it's getting close to the start of April (unless you count that lousy Smarch!). This means a couple things, first and most important, Baseball season is starting. The Orioles have made a lot of good changes and this year the world championship is coming back to Baltimore! Second thing (and almost completely overlooked now a days), April 1st, April Fool's Day. April Fool's Day jokes/pranks seem to be pretty rare today. When I was a kid this seemed to be a way more important day, whatever happened to gum packets that snap your fingers, gum that turns your mouth blue, the leaky cup, the short sheet and who knows what else. And that's just the small day starters, the best stuff would come later in the day and require more planning. Luckily it's not totally dead you still hear about one or two huge pranks, but I miss the full day of pranking. Then again, maybe I was just way more of a dick when I was a kid. Either way, more April Fools!
On the update front there hasn't been a whole lot different, buying DVD's and records as normal, and doing a lot of both. Purchased the Legends of Wrestlemaina game, it's pretty fun, it's getting killed in the reviews though for some reason which I don't get because it's way better than any Smackdown vs Raw game they've been pumping out. On the DVD front the long awaited (by me) DVD release of "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" finally hit last week. It's a must have, this great show was canned long before it should have been; glad to finally see it on DVD. As far as music goes a lot of good shit has come out. The new MF Doom came out recently, however I still have yet to find a best buy that has it in stock, and this is starting to anger me... Drag the River recently released a hand full of 7"s which all rule, the Parasites released they're long awaited new album, it also rules. Insubordination Fest 2008 compilation CD/DVD dropped a couple weeks ago. Deep Sleep came out with their new 7" and a CD which has all 3 of their 7"s on it, it's some quality stuff. The Ergs broke up but Mikey Erg figured he needed to join another band to keep the number he's involved with in the double digits so Psyched to Die's first 7" just got released. I also scooped up Death's 'For the Whole World to See'....I donno I've bought a ton more records but that's the basic idea from the past 2 weeks or so.
Somewhat surprising my 'blog' Uncle Critic - Peep it! is still going and being updated pretty regularly. I've run out of the stockpile of movie reviews so I've been going through a lot of music recently but who knows how long I'll stay on that path. I get to the point with these short reviews so they generally don't take too terribly long to write so I should be able to keep somewhat up to date.
Uh that's all I got for now.
Oh yeah, got my Motorhead jacket in, its mega sweet (surprisingly it has metal studs on it too which werent shown online, considering trying to de-stud the jacket, not sure)
Now here's some random shit that relates to what is above:: (Andy Richter, Psyched to Die and Death)
