a marathon at night sounds like fun - frankly a lot more fun than doing one in the daytime. a great thing to be a part of though - even though you're bloody sore afterwards. good on you smile

living for the moment is good, i think you become more open to doing and trying things you might otherwise not think of, and thus are more open to things which invariably turn out to be good. i figure there are all these people who base their lives around making longterm plans, and then something happens, and they never get to fulfil those plans. . . i don't wnat to end up with unfulfilled goals, you know?

me, i never would have thought i would ever go fishing - i totally looked down on the whole thing - 'fishing? sitting around with a fishing rod waiting for fish that might never actually come? pffff' - you know? but i loved it - it was so relaxing, and a good thing to do with my future father-in-law as kind of a necessary bonding 'thing', you know, him showing me the ropes, teaching me how to cast the line out and stuff. . . my dad was kind of a workaholic when i was growing up, so there was really none of that stuff - so it was actually kind of touching smile

plus i caught a fish! a big(ish) bass, then cooked it over a lof fire by the lake. . . it was lovely, and just nice to kind of be out in nature, enjoying the sunshine. plus, of course, i had a beer or two. which helped the whole experience smile

Computer stuff pays my bills!! if i lived near you i would fix it for nothing, cause if you take it to a shop then they will charge you for something that may be really easy to fix.

If you feel confident try reinstalling windows as a basic solution. If this doesnt work, then fire the error message into google or somewhere: there are lots of technical sites out there that you can find solutions on.
Otherwise a shop may be your only option.

On the other hand if you are desperate to get the stuff from the harddrive then you could try plugging into another computer as a secondary drive, it would mean you would be able to get your stuff from it

Good Luck!!!!

hi again

Yes, if you can connect the laptop hard drive to your other computer it should just be like having another drive when you use it. If your laptop and your other computer have infra red ports you can use them, if they are both activated...which might be a problem if your laptop doesnt turn on right...

the other way is to use a laptop hardrive adapter cable so that you can plug it straight into one of the IDE cables on your other computer. Its all pretty complicated tho, there are lots of plugs to remove and plug in, switches to be put in the right position....it can be a nightmare...i will tell you what to do if you want, though it will be a lengthy description!!

Oh, I know everything about distance relationships, I'm kinda tired of it though. In some ways.. some ways not. Um. It can be good too. Well, I hope it will work out fine, I'm sure it will, time goes faster than you think if you don't think too much. Soon you'll be there together and it will be great! I can't wait to hear about it, and see some pictures maybe=)

I need to read more again, I get back on track.. and then out of it for weeks. I'm a fast reader and I love reading but sometimes it just seem hard for me to just DO IT.
itachi:
All the murakami books are pretty damned good. The ryu murakami ones are also excellent, but very different from haruki.

books for me are bad, i buy too many, can't wait to read them, and have one finished in...oh, around 3 hours...awful...

exactly, different mood or different thing you want to achieve, different style. . . i get the worst artistic blocks though, especially if the weather's lousy (i'm one of those people whose emotions can be dictated by the weather) . . . teaching is a whole other story though, laterally one of the groups i was teaching to at college were 15 year olds who had been - for one reason or another - tossed out of school but who (legally) have to stay in education til they're 16, and of course, they mostly just wanted to sit about and not do anything, and when you're faced with that, you get more determined - if you can get a bunch of lazy teenagers to paint, you can get yourself to, no matter what, you know? yeah, that class drove me nuts. i was teaching a pretty diverse array of groups, though, which. . i kind of liked. kept things interesting.

ah well, enough of my rambling. i'm not really a football fan either, but they are rather obsessed over here right now, the whole thing is inescapable - actually it's almost like being back in the UK.

have a good weekend, whatever you get up to smile

Ah.. lovely visitor peeps... thank you for the welcomes. If I'm being totally honest I haven't been able to get to grip with the way the whole messaging bit works... but in time I'm sure all will become clear! biggrin (and it's probably far simpler than I imagine it to be...oh dear, yes it's been a loooooong day)
