I saw a fox today, it ran in front of me as I was leaving the office. It was fast and small, reddish. It "bounded", kind of bouncing on its short fox legs. I'd heard they were coming back, but this is the first one I've seen alive; racing across a Glenwood Ave. parking lot in the dark. I've said it before: if we stopped mowing and raking and repaving the woods would take back Raleigh. I don't think it would take long, I wish I could live to see it, not in this lifetime.
