I can't complain a bit. I just got back from the Big Easy for some much needed never ever had a vacation before R&R!
Without a doubt New Orleans and the French Quarter in particular were on my bucket list! Especially after the floods I was hell bent on seeing the history there before it washed away one day!
I was not disappointed..I can't wait to go back! I even got the opportunity to earn proper and catch my own beads on Bourbon Street!
I had the opportunity to take two tours while I was there! The first was a walking tour through the French Quarter, it rained on and off the whole day but I have to admit it added to the mystique of the area and to the story telling of the guide!
I can't even begin to delve into the history and facts I learned on that walking tour, I am sure each tour with each guide is uniquely different and interesting!
Here we are "the group" taking shelter near the square and which let me add were such a varied group of people from Canada, Europe, France and even Texas! Yep thats me under the plastic wrap! You know I have that fear of suga melting in the rain! :)
We stopped at what was a shanty of a bar..evidently one of the oldest in the country! I had a wicked strong drink and then we meandered on our way!
Of course original carriage doors! Loved the courtyards you could peek into behind some of these doors! I could get happily lost in the streets!
We stopped at a park that also housed this little cafe and NOMA http://noma.org/ which I visited the next day and learned even more about the history!
I am eating gumbo, beans and rice and of course I am getting my 1st of many tastes of the various Beignet's around the city!
I was told I had to have a Hurricane..
And I tried some alligator, crawfish etouffe! I also finally now that it is legal got the chance to try Absinthe.. :)
YES I was on Lucid Absinthe when I got to meet this occifer and his horses ass!!
LOOK closely SEE those BEADS!!!! :)
I even got to visit the Cemataries on a bus tour and saw the houses that Brad Pitt is helping to rebuild in the 9th Ward!
I got my palm read in the square and purchased tarot cards and a Voodoo Doll "no fear" it is for LOVE..Cause it's all we need!
Since I have been home I have been getting ready for my daughters last day of school tomorrow..or should I say more like Preparing for summer to begin!

I will be traveling to Philly for a night next Friday for my first Shebari shoot!! This was purchased to be incorporated into one of the concepts!!!
