This is one of those times where I really need a good friend.
The kind that will tell you the brutal truth.
Because, ladies and gents,
I got attacked by a skunk.
It was a week ago, and the smell had been coming and going somehow, to the point where I didn't even officially realize I had walked into its wrath until yesterday. It doesn't make sense. It must have just sprayed near me, because for a few days, I only smelled it at certain times, and Jason didn't even smell it at all as we slept together on Friday night. But the next day, he could. I don't understand it, and it's the worst thing that has ever happened to me. I had a sweatshirt that smelled of it, and before I realized that, I put it in the drawer that contains all 50 or so of my band tshirts. These are the shirts I wear, the only shirts I wear, and now they ALL SMELL LIKE IT. If washing them doesn't get it out, I will sink into a deep depression. Yesterday, I put together the supposedly foolproof concoction for skunk smell of
1 quart peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
2 tbsp dish qashing liquid
And washed myself in it in the shower. I hoped that soaking myself in it, letting it stand, and rubbing in it would work the same as taking an actual bath in it. But I dont think it did. And now I'm literally going insane because I can't tell if I'm smelling it on my clothes, or on me, or just in the air in my room, AND I NEED SOMEONE TO TELL ME. I can't see Jason until 11 pm, and until then I feel like I have to be a hermit because I don't know if I smell. And I don't have change for the wash, and getting some would require going out in the rain. And I want to wash myself in the mixture again, but that also would require going out to get more hydrogen peroxide. Does anyone know if it would be bad for my skin to do it again, so soon? It irritated my skin the first time, expectedly, and I don't know if it's safe to do it again.
It's so strong, that I can put on something that hasn't been punctured by the smell yet, and wear it for a couple hours and it soaks in the smell. I know this all seems very funny and gross but it's really really REALYL depressing, and frustrating, and consuming of my whole life.
I feel like a leper.
