Rest in peace dear Elliott Smith.
It was one year ago today.
My cat, aka the love of my life, has been non-living for one month now.
Every once in awhile, I still find cat hairs.
Just now, I looked down at my paper, but my eyes were stopped by something above it. My shirt. What was on it. One, single, tiny cat hair. Looking exactly the same as they always did: No more than an inch long, split into thirds: white, grey in the middle, white.
How do these things manage to stick around?
On a shirt that has been washed, at least two times since then? And has done nothing but sit in my drawer since the last washing?
How much I miss her ... is a monumental amount.
She's saying ... "I miss you Mommy."

Aww. You just actually made me cry. I'm so sorry she's gone. I know exactly how you feel. I lost an awesome kitten a few years ago. Since then my fiance and I have acquired 4. They're the sweetest coolest things ever. We got very lucky. I lost my dog to old age a few months ago. She was still living with my parents but I miss her all the same. I grew up with her. Cats and dogs just don't translate tho.
