Considering that I just rejoined SG a few days ago and generally don't do well at integrating myself into communities like this, I doubt this will be read by many people. However, I'm determined to spread the word, so here it goes...

I, Eric Scott, am making a bet with the universe.

I have a novel, which is currently called DEMON, and I have been writing it for about two years. I want it finished by Christmas. This is my motivational technique, keying in on several of my strong suits: an ego the size of Florida and a complete lack of shame.

I, Eric Scott, bet that I can finish writing DEMON by December 24, 2007. If I do not, anybody who reads this journal can, at any time, make me give them a dollar. If I do not have the dollar at the moment it is asked for, I am at the mercy of the asker for five minutes, in which I may be forced to do ridiculous things. (I give myself the right to refuse illegal acts or things I consider in strong opposition to my morals, so no, I won't have sex with you. Or your sister. Probably.)

Each asker only gets to ask for the dollar once, so don't get tricksy.

Besides, you won't get the opportunity anyway... I hope.
