I want to thank you all again for the amazing amount of support and love you have shown for me and my Just Fucked set in member review. I really, truly appreciate all the wonderful comments, they make me feel so good! You all are fantastic!!!!
Hey...I'm basically computer illiterate...If I'm inserting this image from the website (via the "insert Image" option down there), is there a way to resize it so it doesn't appear in its full size, but rather fits into the blog window once published? So far I've just been uploading smaller attachments to accomplish this...
Yesterday I went with a friend to the White Elephant Sale, a GINORMOUS rummage sale to benefit the Oakland Museum. It was my first time going, though they hold it every year. It was pretty amazing, really - there were tons of really, really cool things for sale. I bought myself an old crank-handle sifter (I make a lot of frosting for cake decorating, which requires a lot of sifted powdered sugar and the squeeze-handle sifter I have completely sucks for that...), a leather jacket and some props for an upcoming photoshoot all for under $30. I was pretty stoked! I drooled over the GORGEOUS antique furniture and the old, old Singer sewing machines. If I were rich, and had the space in my apartment.... Oh, the possibilities!
Today I went to see Alice in Wonderland (3D). OK, I absolutely adored it. I had been ghearing really mixed reviews and quite frankly, I gotta say, I think a lot of people missed the point. Now, I'm going to admit to not having actually read Lewis Carroll's stories about Alice (yet)... However I think people were expecting a remake of previous films, which this was not - and (unless I'm completely off-base) was not intended to be. Tim Burton brought an adult Alice back to Wonderland, revisiting some of the elements from Disney's animated film and the original story and adding to it, giving her a reason for having to return. I thought it was brilliant, and the actors' performances were spectacular. The only part I really could have done without was Depp's futterwack - to me it felt out of place. It probably should have been done differently. As for the 3D, people said it was lame...I actually really liked it. It's not 3D in the sense that you have things flying out at you, it's more of an added depth to the picture and a feeling like you're actually there rather than simply observing. To me, I felt it was comparable to the 3D effects in Avatar. I really enjoyed the added depth without feeling like the film makers were showing off by throwing things in my face the whole time.
OK, I'd better go get some work done now... Thank you again for all your lovely comments. You guys rock my socks off!
XOXO
