Hey everyone!
Sorry I have been so bad at keeping up with everyone lately. Life has been so hectic these days. Good, but hectic.
Work has been really crazy the last few weeks. Management keeps loading all these projects onto my department and we just don't have enough people to do everything they're asking of us. But of course they expect it anyway. And that results in a lot of tension and stress amongst my coworkers...
I've had three chem labs so far and the material feels like I'm going back to high school. It's ridiculously stupid - I feel like I'm wasting my time. But I guess if it gets me the grades I need then that's what counts, right? Hopefully.
Last weekend Trillance and I took a trip to Vegas. We had tons of fun. It was restaurant week there, which is basically a charity event that restaurants can elect to participate in. They offer a (generally) 3 course prix-fixe menu, and part of the proceeds were going to ThreeSquare to help end hunger. So we had 3 meals as part of restaurant week. The best by far was at Nine Fine Irishmen (at NYNY). I honestly didn't have high hopes for Irish "pub food" but we were meeting friends there. They were SUPER generous with the portions - I only ate about half of what I was given and was still STUFFED and the food was amazing. The bread pudding - OH. MY. GOD. I wished I hadn't filled up on the first two courses!
We also went to see Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity, which I absolutely loved. What could be better than an adult-themed circus? It was very different from the other Cirque shows I've seen. They had an emcee for the show and so there was quite a bit of talking and far less of the acrobatics and crazy stage work that happens in the other shows. But I adored it anyway. Trillance did a couple of photoshoots with models in Vegas - one of whom is the leading lady of Freaks. She gave us comp tickets to check out the show and man, those ladies and gents were pretty impressive. I've seen a couple other sideshow performances and these guys took everything one step farther. Plus they invited us over after to hang out and take some pictures. They were awesome people.
So for some extra good news, I managed to shoot a set while we were in Vegas. It was our last day there and we were both tired. The shoot felt like it took the whole day, but we had fun with it and I'm really happy with the results. Perhaps I shall share some previews soon.
Yesterday I got 3 microdermals done - in the cleavage. They're beautiful and I love them. They make me so happy. Pics to come soon.
Anyway, tomorrow I start chem lectures and of course I still have lab. Thursday Trillance and I will be heading to Rudy's in Emeryville at 9 pm to hang with towelb0y and get some $1 beers. If anyone other east bay SGers wants to meet up with us - the more the merrier!
*phew* Long blog. I had better be off to bed now, though. I super-duper promise I'll get to your messages some time this week! Love you all!
XOXO
