Like as before, I have taken a step back from commentary to think about what to say next. There are a lot of girls posting about this. @hartt posted a blog over New Years explaining so beautifully her experiences on the site. It began this huge conversation about how we can better the site, better the community and overall increase traffic through the site. This includes more POC, non-binary/trans representation and promotion of those in the community already instead of insta pinking new recruits for the sake of the site, and them never having any interest in being on the site.
I wrote a blog on the Suggestion Box thread, expressing my thoughts and worked three days on that post, come to find my thoughts were overshadowed by the arguments around me, and the thread now blocked because of the viciousness all around.
Let me be clear, I have made my thoughts known. Now I will make this known. I do not condone the attack of anyone in this community whether it be models to members, sg to hopefuls, staff to models. Whatever. We are losing sight of the subject at hand, to assist @missy in hearing our voices be heard. There is no need to clap back at each other, call each other out or instigate drama. These are real people with real feelings ALL AROUND. We all deserve a chance to say our piece and some of you have ruined it for the rest of us.
I understand some of you are ready to "tear it all down", some are here for juicy gossip, but there are genuine women who have expressed their desire for change and that matters. You all matter.
We are a community of women, yes girls can get catty, but are all adults and should act so. I would love to have an opportunity to see this site grow into the new year.
I, however, feel considerably left out here. There is no community where I live. The girls I do associate with are a 16 hour drive away. The staff for all of my country only shoots certain girls and I will never be one of them considering my sets are bought frequently. I, personally, would love more of an involvement for Canada as one staff member for the 2nd largest country in the world is quite ridiculous. We have plenty of people here who would be a great asset. Ie. @aurralee and Harriet Beth or @mdt
Unfortunately due to covid I cannot attend events or any shootfests currently because Canada is a mess, but no events organized beforehand was I ever invited to. Not the massive Christmas sets, or the new years, or Halloween. Just saying, but invites shouldn't be exclusive, it should include everyone.
That includes those being on a council, certain SGs have been invited but some haven't. Wouldn't you want those with opinions to speak up? Instead of those who haven't.
Other than the glaringly obvious ones everyone else has posted about transparency and inclusivity. These are so important to advancing the site. Many members such as @dennovondiesel have made amazing points towards this. That's the great part of having a community like this. We have many people from all walks of life to go to for advancements and voice their specialty. Isn't that what this is all about?
Please do not take my opinions as a personal attack, I am just trying to stand up for what is right and justify my friends are hurting.
