Hello!!
I watched MTV2's Most Controversial Videos last night (well, this morning, at 2 a.m.) and I am so happy I have seen the *unedited* versions of so many videos that I THOUGHT I knew already. I saw drug use, I saw full frontal nudity, I heard the F-bomb and every other cuss word in its unedited glory. I LOVE IT when there is unabashed cursing on regular TV.
Today, my Happy Thoughts list is comprised of the videos from that countdown that I most enjoyed, as well as Mr. Andrew WK, because he hosted that show, and he is a cool guy. I never really gave him much attention but he's on my cool list now. You know why?? You guessed it, if you know me... He made me laugh.
Andrew WK kicks ass.
BJORK's Pagan Poetry video (and the song! so beautiful) was amazing. She threaded pearls through her skin, as a tribute to the man she loves. She's so different, I respect her so much.
Madonna was on the countdown twice. You know her, the Queen of Controversy at MTV. Justify my Love of course, and What It Feels Like For A Girl. The latter being quite an amazing video.
Eminem, Stan - this song gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it, and the unedited video makes it even better.
Pearl Jam's Jeremy - I always knew the story behind this song, and thought the video was amazing and well-done, but seeing the scene MTV made them cut pretty much freaked me out. You kind of see Jeremy make the motion of pulling a gun out of his waistband, and then the kids in his class are covered with blood. But the scene they cut was the one where he put the gun in his mouth. Very creepy.
Nine Inch Nails - Closer - Trent Reznor used to be one of my favorite hotties. He's still on the list. But I just love the unedited version of this video- makes it so much better. And although I tried my HARDEST to get a video capture of him licking the microphone in that video (god that made me so excited when I used to see that video all the time, it was all I waited to see!) I could not find one.
Metallica's Turn the Page video - I had never seen this video in the first place, let alone the enedited version. It was pretty fuckin disturbing. This video also had a full cache of full frontal nudity, stripping, and streetwalking, as well as a pretty disturbing-for-tv rape scene.
Prodigy's Smack My Bitch Up video - another I thought I had seen in its entirety. Nope nope nope. The unedited version of course includes lots of nudity, lots of violence, and drug use that wasn't shown in the edited version. For example, one scene where the person pulls a dude out of a bathroom stall and throws him aside to go in there and shoot up... freaky! And then going to a strip club, picking up one of the strippers and getting it on, on the way back to the person's apartment they just hit someone, they bounce off the hood of the car, and they keep going like it didn't even happen. There was no hit n run in the edited cut, it was pretty fuckin weird. And of course, the end of the video where you see the person causing all this havoc is a woman. That's one crazy bitch.
Finally, a video that I had also never seen, by a band called U.N.K.L.E., the song is Rabbit in your Headlights. It's a video of a man walking through a tunnel, jibber-jabbering to himself like a crazy man, and he keeps getting hit by cars in the most fucked up ways and he just keeps getting back up. It's strange to see someone getting hit by a car over and over. Quite weird.
OK, so controversial videos made my day. I have more, But I can save them for tomorrow or something. That's just more happy thoughts to think of another day.
I'd also like to add I added Stormy to my SG Favorites list, because she has a picture of my hero Bettie Page tattooed on her back! Not to mention she's cute as all hell!! Yay Stormy!
Hope ya'll are having a good weekend!!!
