I just started a new job as the Director of UX for an app analytics company. It is going to be bittersweet leaving gaming behind, but working in games almost always sounds cooler than it actually is.
One of the interesting aspects of this job is I will be on the road, a lot. I used to travel to Vegas and Seattle all the time for work, but now I am adding in Beijing (where I am writing this from now) and the Netherlands. I love to travel, so I am looking forward to it, but it is a whole different world to plan a trip and settle back into your routine vs. having your routine be out of a suitcase.
I am going to be adding to my "Shit I Learned Along the Way" travel guide. If anyone is interested in it let me know. It does not have things like the Great Wall is cool, I prefer to dive into a place and live like the locals do.
One perk is adding NL to my tour I get to see the talented and beautiful @Waikiki more often. Definitely a plus.
I will leave this with a question. If you could work anywhere, where would it be. Give me both locations and companies/industries.
