Alright fellas, despite being in the troughs of my wave, it's time for a post-Thanksgiving update:
I was raised in a strict traditional Chinese family: meaning no free time, no friends, and the non-existence of American holidays. Trick-or-treating? You mean trick yourself into studying and your treat is acing the test. Easter egg hunting? Look for those eggs in your history textbook. Christmas carols? Practice Beethoven's Sonata #8 for 4 hours until you associate the two for the rest of your life. Blah blah blah, etc etc, Asians everywhere.
SO, I got to experience my very first American Thanksgiving! Butterball turkey, casseroles, pies, and generations of family. It was fun taking note of the differences, experiencing the dynamics of family, and being the first Asian the kids have ever seen IRL (I know, seriously.) I made Garlic Knots and Mac&Cheese cupcakes:
Captured my very first Amish sighting:
And bought a bottle of Catdaddy Moonshine:
Then I left for Pittsburgh to see The Swellers and Four Year Strong. It was a great show, despite being one of the few old enough to drink. Got to explore the city a bit, spent the entire day at the Carnegie Art & History Museums, and ate at one of the worst Chinese buffets ever (I don't know why...but what's done is done).
Current Netflix obsession: Into The Universe With Stephen Hawking <3

I love garlic knots! And oh my goodness! Amish people! I'm sure they loathe outsiders' curiosity, but I can't help it. I'd be so intrigued if I spotted them.
