In search of the holy land.
So I spent what seemed like forever in Leeds today looking for the much revered Joseph's Well. The reason for my odyssey you ask well Harleen mentioned the "Out Of Spite" fest and whether I was going to check it out, in my quest for more details about said event I found out that Angelspit & Ayria are playing there on 5th October as part of the Electromotion Tour. So with this new info I set out to find the aforementioned hallowed ground, I'd been informed that it was "near Park Lane College" I searched high and low for what seemed like an hour or so until it started pissing it down. Long story short I still don't know where the place is which is rather shocking since Leeds is my home town but hey I'm used to people laughing at me.
Out & About
So for anyone who's been living under a rock I've had the last week off from my oh so lovely job
. Since I didn't really have a spare 75 squid lying around I didn't go down to London
. So instead I had to do other stuff to occupy myself. One of those things was going to Huddersfield on Monday, while I don't want to offend anyone who happens to come from Huddersfield but I have to say it's not exactly the most exciting of places is it. There seems to be no character to the place at all really or if there is it's well and truly hidden behind streets of seemingly identical shops. It does have a rather nice pub that goes by "The Head Of Steam" next to the train station and a nice church, I know ironic isn't I'man atheist but I like churches . It has a strange abundance of shopping centres ( I counted 4 ) which are all pretty much exactly the same aside from the name above the entrance. One thing it does have in far higher number is feral urchins, chavs and wannabe gangsta types. Maybe it's 'cause I'm used going into Leeds which is pretty well populated with alterneryouth and sceneagers but it doesn't strike as the most friendly of places. The only music shops I spotted in the whole time I was there was a small and crap HMV and an even smaller Virgin store it just made me think this is exactly the sort of place that is killing the music business, if I lived there I wouldn't have any choice but to download music 'cause I sure as hell wouldn't be able to buy it. I took my camera with me as always but there really wasn't that much worth taking pictures of but I did get a few:

Cool looking lion statue on top of some building.

Huddersfield Trainstation, it's not as impressive inside.

The rather odd view from the trainstation platform.
I also ended up going to Xscape in Castleford with my folks (my brother didn't want to go for whatever reason)
and had a few games of pool with my dad. I haven't played in like a squillion years since I don't really go out to the local anymore. I also managed to pick up a cool looking gargoyle statue for the garden which I convinced my mum would look cool next to the pond.

Me and my dad at Xscape.

The gargoyle I bought.
