Regret????
So here's the thing the other day it was someone at works birthday and they were having this "get together" in Leeds, I was asked if I wanted to go and I said I'd think about it bearing in mind that all of the people going are people I refer to as "casual friends" by which I mean they're people I talk to at work but not for amy longer than 10 minutes at a time because they're all part time and I don't see them that much. In typical fashion I didn't see her again to say yes or no so forgot about it then the night before the outing I got talking to someone online who told me where everyone was supposed to be meeting I said I didn't think it would be my kind of thing but this only resulted in the usual accusations of being "boring" that I usually get. So I thought what the hell I might actually have fun as shockingly unlikely as that might be so I said okay then the next day I got talking to one of my "proper" friends at work about it and she said " I wouldn't bother if I was you 'cause everyone'll ignore you" apparently she'd been out with the same crew before and it was just her and her boyfriend on their own all night and no one spoke to them all night taking this into account added to the fact I've been getting up at 5am all week and thus wasn't in a very energetic frame of mind and the fact I wouldn't be going with anyone unlike most people who were going with friends or boyfriends/girlfriends I decided not to go. I was just wondering what other people's thoughts on the situation would be, I think going out and being ignored and ostracized is far worse than not going out at all. Is it worth going out with people you don't really know just for the sake of going out? bearing in mind I don't drink much anyway.
Feeding My Disease
So I've started collecting Black Library books in the last few weeks, when I was younger me and my brothers used to play Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 but we kind of realised rather quickly how extortionately exspensive it was getting. Every other year a new edition would be released that would have less in the box and cost more to buy and dumb the rules down even more than the last edition. While this resulted in me and my brothers stopping our gaming I always thought the story and settings for the games were really good if derivative of other things I only found out about Black Library's series of books set in the Warhammer, Warhammer 40,00 and Necromunda worlds amongst others a few months ago but personally I think they're an excellent and inexpensive thing for people familiar with the settings . I think the approach of the "Imperium" to problems by throwing troops at them ad infinitum regardless of cost in lives is particularly relevant now. If you know what Adeptus Mechanicus means or what a brood of Genestealers is I recommend them highly, especially anything by William King or Dan Abnett.
Frogtastic
There's been plenty of croaking go on down in our pond it seems like the indigenous frog population is getting way more action than me. Me and my brother counted sixteen the other day, it was like the frog chorus or something.
The Sky Is Burning!
This was the view out of my bedroom window the other day I thought it was pretty cool.
