Reflections
So after thinking about things for a while I've come to realise as one of my friends suggested that I'm probably too old for her me being a rusty 25 and her being 19 although having a girl tell you're too old is a little wounding it makes me feel like I should be down the scrapyard with all the other rusting junk. As everyone was keen to point out she's not my type anyway not that I really have a type. I think it was the point of her being not even remotely interested in the whole metal/industrial/electro thing which is what seemed to throw everyone off. I have to admit we would've been like the odd couple but like I said to my friend who was genuinely surprised at me being attracted to someone who and I quote "Hasn't got weird hair and metal in her face" end quote you can't control who you're attracted to and sometimes it just hits you in the face like a 2x4.

Revolting Cocks - Cocked And Loaded
I've been meaning to pick this up for ages and finally got 'round to it the other day since I've got the week off work. I've got to say I'm not dissapointed from the intro of "Fire Engine" this is top notch mad as a badger playing the spoons stuff. My personal picks have to be the ode to geriatric hookers "Prune Tang" sample lyric "She can suck the chrome of my trailer hitch", the stomp of "Dead End Streets" with vocals courtesy of Jello Biafra and the great Billy Gibbons and if you don't know who that is then shame on you. Let's not forget the sheer lunacy of "Devil's Cock" which as far as I'm aware is the only metal track to sample a farmyard rooster. with such a big gap between albums I didn't know whether this would be worth it but I think it's the best stuff I've heard by Revolting Cocks.
Dry Kill Logic - Of Vengeance And Violence
I have to give credit to the guys from Dry Kill Logic for sticking with it through all the grief, being picked up by Roadrunner Records and then thrown away just as quickly when they refused to go the radio friendly route only to come back now with the best material they've written. From the stomping crunch of "Boneyard" and "Dead Man's Eyes" to the distinctly mellower sounding "Kingdom Of The Blind" and "In Memoria Di"there are a lot bands too carried away with the macho posing alpha male bullshit in the metal scene so it's refreshing to seen a band unafraid to do some acoustic styled stuff.
