Gary Who?
So I had the week off work and just like every other time when I 've had time off work I go for 2 or 3 days then I just start to get a bit bored really since I spend an average of 12 hours a day gooingto/at/coming back from work I don't usually have a lot of downtime. Anyways I thought I'd go see Gary Numan who was playing at Leeds Met on Tuesday but I didn't want to go on my own 'cause going to gigs on your own is just boring ( well it is for me anyway) so I asked one of my more musically inclined friends from work if he wanted to go and the reply I got was "Gary who?" now it might just be me who's getting ready for the scrap yard but I was under the impression that Gary Numan was quite well known the gig sold out anyway so there must be some other people who know who he is.

So I went to the cinema during my week off which is something I don't usually have the time to do really, so I went to go see Silent Hill
Which I have to say I thought was very good, I'm a big fan of the game and it really is impressive how much they've managed to adapt from the game straight into the film from the atmosphere of menacing dread and isolation to the disturbing creatures and the excellent score which is half sombre piano pieces and half clanking industrial nightmare. The main reason I liked it so much is that it actually had a story behind it unlike most films that are based on games. It made me think why is it that the only games that seem to get adapted are games that have very little story to them anyway. My personal choices for stuff that would make good films would be the Legacy Of Kain series
a story of Fate,Destiny & Timetravel featuring a number of characters who all share traits of heroism and villiany from vicious anti hero vampire lord Kain to his some time nemesis Raziel the wraith with a vast gothic landscape in the background. If you want to know more check out Legacy Of Kain Another I think would make for an excellent film would be Onimusha One of the most cinematic games you can play, with developed characters and dramatic action based around several characters from japanese history including Oda Nobunaga as a demon or "Genma" lord and Samanosuke Akechi, Yagyū Jubei, Akechi Mitsuhide amongst others. The third game in the series (Onimusha 3 Demon Siege) starred Jean Reno as Jacques Blanc a french military police man caught up in the action. look at onimusha

Dude, you're not ready for the scrap yard yet. You're younger than me! How can anyone be even slightly musically inclined and not know who Gary Numan is? Insanity, I tell you.
I've heard varying opinions on the Silent Hill movie. I love the game a lot, but a lot of people have told me that it didn't translate well to film. I still want to check it out anyway.
