What a great weekend! I'm glad to have the day off today, because I'm beat!
Saturday night, we went to check out the SG Burlesque Show here in Pittsburgh. The all girl Japanese band that opened the show just rocked!! As far as the SG's who performed, I think Fanny was the best. She really had great stage presence and dancing skill, plus she was really cute! The other surprise for me was Reagan. What struck me about her is how tall she was. She was adorable. There was a new SG named Reno. Apparently, her first set in still "in limbo", but she was incredible. all the other girls put on a great show, too. If it comes near your town, go check it out.
After the show, I spent the night sipping Irish Wiskey, and smoking cigarettes with my buddy Jess. I got home at like 2AM, and was in my garage, drunk, trying to work on my mountain bike for Sunday's ride. I'm sure that was a site to be seen!
Sunday, I went on a group bike ride in the Laurel Highlands. Laurel is small mountain range here in PA. Anyway, a couple of the local mountain bike clubs got together for a big group ride up there, followed by a party afterwards. The riding was incredible, but the weather was chilly (in the 40's). It was pretty challenging, and dangerous to navigate a bike through some of those rock gardens. Everyone thought I was a nut, because I had the only bike without rear suspension, and only one gear. I kept up with the leaders, though, and became a legend of sorts. Afterwards, fires were built, food was cooked, and beer was drank. It was a really great time. I didn't get home late, but my body is feeling a little beat up.
So what am I doing today? Probably going on another bike ride! Have a good day, everyone!
As a side note, a friend gave me a CD as a belated birthday gift. The band is called Witchcraft, and the album (Firewood) rocks! Although they're a new band, it sounds like early Black Sabbath or something. Totally not a disc I would have bought on my own, but definately worth checking out if you dig that sound. It was a good change of pace for me.
