How was your weekend? Mine was amazing!
It was my brother's 3 year old birthday. He's a Kiss (yes, the band!) fan and this year he wanted a Kiss themed birthday. So we set everything up, and it all kinda started a bit before the day when he got some things he really wanted as gifts:
A drum set (he really likes the drums and actually plays following the music!), an electric guitar (from Hotwheels hahahah), colored hair spray (he sees me with all colors on my hair, he obviously wants it too lol), red and black lipsticks (because he did notice that Paul Stanley and Eric Singer wear red lipstick and Gene Simons and Tommy Thayer wear a black one), black nail polish (as he noticed Stanley's nails). and some red syrup we have in Brazil called "groselha", to be Gene Simons's fake blood (he loves that part of the concert). Ohh, and also a big Kiss poster!
So this Sunday he was already super excited, woke up early and asked my mum to put his toy drums in the garage. In the afternoon his babysitter brought the cake she and my sister had made. It was amazing! And it had Gene's blood all over it haha unfortunately, when I came back home I only brought a small piece with me, and I now really regret it, because it tasted sooooooooooo goooood! (I obviously asked them one for me for my birthday next month hahaha)
*Important: no, he didn't have a party with his little friends and everybody else, it was basically us, just the family, Covid is still a big thing in Brazil
Also, as soon as he had woken up, he ad already decided the characters for the day (he really likes playing parts in live): he was going to be Eric Singer, my mom would be Tommy Thayer, I'd be Paul Stanley and my sister Gene Simons. Which means I had to spend my afternoon looking like this:
He was obviously really happy with it all and he had such an amazing time! It was really great seeing him enjoy the day that much!
The cherry on top was that he got to talk to a guy who's a Gene Simons cover here from Brazil, so he felt as he was actually talking to the real guy. He was sooooo excited!
The only bad part is that I had to come back home in the evening, and he's really attached to me (I actually took care of him for a great deal of time after he was born, as my mom had some unsoved physical problems back then, so I'm almost like a second mom). But he eventually stopped crying and got happy again after my mom did this to his bedroom right beside his bed haha
They were all simple things made from people who really love him and even though we're living such a bad situation, we were able to bring him some good time on his birthday <3
When was the last time you helped someone feel happier? (Or someone made you happier, too!)
