YES!!!! YOU’VE READ IT RIGHT! I’VE TURNED PINK!
Damn, here’s a long post now, so sorry for those who aren’t into reading, but it’s a lot of “thank yous” and I’ll start telling you the story about my latest set, Call me maybe, which is the one who pinked me, starting from the beginning until the day it was chosen by SG.
Thanks to one of my supporters (who I won’t tag, as some people prefer that way), I was able to pay to shoot with @hilo back in the beginning of March (little did I know it’d be my last shooting of THE YEAR!). She sent me some pics of the location and the thing that caught my eye was the light blue couch they had there, so I immediately started thinking of all stuff that I had to choose, such as outfit, hair and makeup, to match it all.
For this one I got “risky”. I tried a more elaborate makeup look (I’m bad at it, but I need to start trying things or I’ll never get better at anything), then also the hair, as I usually try to have different hairstyles for each set, so it’s not always the same. The dark blue lingerie was something I had been looking forward to wearing for a set, and that definitely was my choice. Accidentally, I had a dark blue headband I used to wear when my dance group would perform at a 1950’s themed bar. And, so I wouldn’t be just wearing that (boriiiing lol), I decided to wear my only blue jeans (I usually wear only black jeans and I only have that one because it had been a donation from one of my aunts haha). And that was it, the look I’ve found the most challenging, but the one that had the PERFECT colour palette to match the setting. Here's a pic for you to see it all as a whole:
It was a very pleasant shooting, and the phone, BELIEVE ME, was something we noticed that was there, just somewhere in the house and it ended up working really well in the set! And as Hilo is amazingly talented and doesn’t need to take 500 pics of you, when I got them for the selection it was almost easy to know what would make it to the set. That part of the process was pretty quick and, when the time was right, we sent the set to be approved. After that, it was a long 4-month wait, and I was super anxious cause it as (actually, still is) my favourite set! And I’m not talking SG only, but as a whole in my modelling life (which is short, to be fair, but you get it!).
Before the set finally hit MR, I already had other 5 sets here and two of them with more than 2k of "hearts" (both by @msilveira – so not that much of a surprise lol), one being my very first sensual nude set and having more than 2700 hearts, which I find amazing considering my extreme lack of experience with modelling back then.
Anyways, then the day came and Call me Maybe was a hit (not talking bout the song, k?). In 12 hours it had hit the mark of 1000 hearts , which had never happened with any of my sets (except for my first, but not sure also) and soon hitting 2k; not to mention the comments, as I got many regarding the title, telling me they’d call me at any moment lol - you all have my heart.
Then, along this first week many things happened. Many posting on my page, tipping the set, mentioning me in some group threads, blogging about it (for those thinkgs and many more: thanks to @ojtheviking @echumpench_2 @captainmcbarky @thatguylopez @just_dudley @higtron @mr_payne @dtimm87 @trilla @sdmofo @jaybugg @jacqueline @dragan3 @stonerdoom , obviously Hilo, and if I forgot to @ anyone, I’m sorry, it’s hard to remember everyone! >.<) and some even signed up to my OF as I had a sale up to help me invest in a home upgrade I’m doing. So I was already extremely happy with the set feedback! And also need to tag and thank (some of the) girls who also supported and still support me: @katvans @amra @callina @vodu @tintanankin @blizzard @fla Hilo @witchlove @peregrina @joymermaid and many others!
So, there I was, living my life, just the usual again. It was Saturday (last week, Nov 28th) when I was just doing my stuff and checking on Instagram and catching up with WhatsApp groups, and Fla had told us that she had had two sets selected as SOTD, and I was happy for her because, especially the Matrix themed one, I knew was gonna be chosen sooner or later. So ok, was just happy for that and kept living my Saturday (this one in particular I was still in bed), when I started getting messages from Hilo telling me I had just become an official SG. Here’s a screenshot of the moment (I don’t think there’s any need to translate that into English, though lol):
Of course, that kind of news can spread quite easily amongst some of us, and it was a day full of people congratulating me (and full of “AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” as a reply, cause I literally didn’t know how else to react hahahahaha). “SO, MELYSE, GOSH, WHY HAVEN’T YOU POSTED THIS BLOG BEFORE? GEEZ, GIRL!” well… it all happened when I had a kinda busy week to go! Was helping my mom on the weekend with my little brother and some of her work stuff, had to (finally) get my hair done on Monday (it had been months since I had dyed it last), work during the week and it also happened to be my final week at college for this term, so, well, test week! But now that I finally have the time for it, I’m here writing almost 1000 words that could maybe be put in less than 10: THANK YOU FOR ALL SUPPORT! Let’s keep on growing!
All of you guys are amazing, really!!!! – And special thanks to the SG staff, as they’re the one who have chosen me and my set, right? haha
XO,
Mel
