i dreamed of jules.
we were on a greyhound bus. (when she sent me dreams while she was alive. we were always on buses. all sorts. or trains. or subways. always one of those.)
we were going to texas. but stopped in the middle of arkasas. and some people got off the bus. we got off the bus.
and the bus left us behind.
and there was a house. a large house, an old house. jules sat outside while i went inside.
i found rooms, some half in construction. plastic. paint cans. and i found other rooms. secret rooms.
rooms with idols and masks, faces twisted and strange. eyes uneven. like the voids, beck.
and a man, in the house. found me. in the odd-rooms. he, also. was strange. perverted was the look in his eyes. and i could not get out.
so i looked for my phone and it was not there. and jules. was outside.
on the floor of another room that i had gone into. to get away. and there was a cellphone on the ground. not mine. i picked it up and put it down again, on the dusty floor. and went outside.
jules was gone. the bus had come back for the people and everyone was gone. i, left behind.
i remember trying so hard to tell jules in my head to come back for me. but no one came.
