Good bye Texas Hill County! Hello Mountains!
As a Texan who was raised by an even prouder Texas dad, I never thought I would live elsewhere inside the United States. I thought that if I ever made a big move then it would be out of the country. But here I am in Colorado. It snows here. Did I mention I'm from Texas and it does not snow in my part of Texas... It's supposedly summer time here but I have yet to wear shorts outside the house due the the chill in the air.
The other morning I woke just as the sun was filling the morning sky to bitter cold air nipping at my face. I ran downstairs to turn on the heater. Normally, I would be in shorts and tank tops this time of year. I would be sweating my ass off in 100+ heat. Swamp Crotch, TX wasn't coined without reason.
Am I complaining about the cool summer temperatures? I don't think so. I believe I may be in shock. The Mountains are breathtaking. But dive into the San Marcos river it feels the exact same way the Mountains make you feel when you see them with virgin eyes.
There is a pretty cool town near me where they have a vintage arcade. They have a lot of old school games that took pennies, they weren't digital games. Other old school non digital games took .10 and most digital took .25. The town also has a lot of natural spring drinking fountains throughout public areas. I tried the water from the one I have pictured and it tasted sweet and really carbonated. It was strange but I feel like I want to get into a hot tub full of it.
