I second the Mission. More fun bars than you can shake a stick at, and endless great Mexican restaurants, high-end and low-end. Plus, just walking down the street is interesting. Look for events at Dolores Park and the Castro Theatre.

Awesome, thanks guys! I picked up my bike from The Mission and saw the Sidewalk Cafe with their famous kombucha on the sign. I'd love to go back and check them out.
