Where should I go for Spring Break?

My friend and I were semi-planning a trip to Vegas, but he dropped the ball on that. I have a week and a half off, but I do have a friend coming into town in the middle of that. So I want to go someplace fun. It doesn't have to be warm, just interesting. I would prefer if it was close, since it's too near the date to buy plane tickets. Suggestions? So far I've been thinking Atlantic City, or camping, or maybe somewhere in Canada. I'm not from the East Coast though, so I need suggestions.
