I am reading Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar". I always feel like such an emo girl, depressed college co-ed when I read it. Next I will be romanticizing her suicide. Lord help me when that happens. But in reality, it is an amazing book. I adore Sylvia Plath. Surprisingly more now than when I was truly and deeply depressed. I can't figure that one out.
I found two new bands that I am really crazy about. I am sure everyone has known about them for ages but I don't care. They are The Bird and The Bee and Cowboy X. They are both quiet and soft enough for me to listen to at work when it's 4 am and I can't bring myself to be to loud. But they are also just right to keep me awake. And both have female lead singers. And I do love the ladies. Ahem... singers that is. ;-)
My brother is coming up in a couple weeks while he is on leave from Iraq. I am SO excited to see him. No one can possibly understand. Him and I have such a past and such a strong relationship because of it. The fact the my mother and him are together again is just the icing on the cake. He is also going to try and bring his son up with him so that I can meet my nephew and my poor mother can meet her grandson for the first time. I will be saddened if the baby doesn't come, but really I just want to spend time with my big brother.
What else... Work is going... well, I suppose. There are a lot of politics surrounding shelters that I was not aware of and it's actually a bit disheartening. I just want to help. But with what is going on around here these days, that is becoming harder and harder.
American Eagle is also alright. I don't love it, but knowing I only have to be there one or two days a week is wonderful. That fact that it is not THE job and that if I really feel the need, I can up and quit whenever I want, is simply fantastic. Plus, DISCOUNT.
I got me a new pet! I named him Chuck Norris because when I went and was looking at all the Betas he was off by himself. I picked him up and in doing so made his container close to the other betas. He started to FREAK out, attacking the side of his container. It was awesome. So I bought him. And named him Chuck Norris.
He is very active. He is constantly swimming around and around his tank. It's sweet. At first when I went up to the bowl he would swim away, but now if I put my finger on the glass he follows it! Whoever said fish don't have personalities is a douche. He's bad ass.

There isn't much else to say really. My life is pretty calm and boring these days with a few exceptions. Backstabbing heartless "friends" being one, but we won't get into that. I'm over it.
