Well, I've been without a car for most of the month, for the first time in 4 years or so?.. it really sucks. At least in TO and SF and places, there's streetcars and it's not too hard to get around.. though even in their suburbs it's a pain. I've mostly been begging rides from people at work. I haven't gotten to the grocery store all month, which by now is a problem. I'm supposed to be getting another car this week, but the guy who was fixing it was away all last week and keeps bumping it back, hasn't even touched it yet. Gah.
Anyway, while you can get a train from Philly to TO, there isn't actually a train in Buffalo? There's the subway downtown, but it only runs for a couple miles. It took 3 hours to get from my apartment to my doctor's today (45 minute or so drive) and the silly metro info is outdated, so the schedule I got online had buses that didn't even run. On the way home, I got to take the subway for the first time ever.. there was a really cute girl sitting across from me, so at least there was something decent about my day?
It was supposed to be warm and dry, but it poured, and I had to hunt for my umbrella. I had to beg for 2 rides because of non-existant buses. The appointment.... well, hard to explain but I get shots because of my migraines and because my back's pretty screwed up. I can't get them more than every 4 weeks, but they wear off after 3, and by that time I'm in a ton of pain.. if I'm any later, I can't function. The worst before was 20 shots, from the base of my skull to my shoulders, down to my lower back. Today was 30. Suffice to say, I'm really hurting and a bit sick.
When I finally got home I saw an email from here. ... I've summed up my day, you can guess my expectation. BUT.. I get to try again. We knew the lighting kinda sucked, and it wasn't the greatest set, but apparently it was good enough that I can try again. His daughter's away in a few weeks, and like I said, we had at least 1 other idea, which was better but time/space consuming. This time we should be able to start early, too.
I'm sure this is long again, and they won't be long normally, but it's hard to tell a partial story, and no one knows me yet, so yah... At least today ended well, and hopefully I'll have a car (and food!!!) by the end of the week.
