... I guess I should put something here? Things have just been really crazy, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds making a new profile daunting. I've been planning to do this since I got set up a month, month and a half ago, I just don't seem to have the time to do this. .... the actual profile can wait for later, I just thought it was about time I say something.. for lack of any better ideas, how I got here?
Back in June my best friend happened to mention this site. I haven't been remotely "goth" in years, though I generally wear black.. or grey or purple... I'm on another modeling site, and pretty much everyone who's planned a shoot with me asks if I'd be willing to do something goth, because I so have the look, apparently. My friend just kind of mentioned the site.. we were talking about my hair I guess, nothing exciting. A few hours later, one of the photographers asked if I wanted to shoot something for SG. I took a little while thinking about it, but the site was just kind of addictive, and I ended up agreeing (yes, I know... don't say it please).
Anyway, that set got rejected. I'm not certain why... it could have been the set, him, or maybe even me that the girls here didn't like. It doesn't make that much difference to me, though I'm a bit curious. I wouldn't blame them at all if they rejected it just to not deal with him. ... he got upset because I wouldn't go cross country to stay with him (who I hadn't met prior to this shoot... again, don't say it) and shoot a couple more sets. He was already a little upset that I wouldn't skip work at the last minute to do more sets, or let him and his dog into my apartment (with my cat) to do more stuff. He also made it VERY clear that I wasn't supposed to be choosing any of the submission. To get anything I wanted in, I had to agree to 2 or 3 of his pictures that I rejected multiple times and got sick looking at. He had very weird taste, and not like anything I've ever seen on here to think someone else might like it. He ignored 2 emails, for a little over 2 weeks, and when the third one said I was working on a new set with my friend, he finally agreed to send in most of the ones I wanted and all the ones he wanted. I didn't like it, but I wanted it done, and everyone else was so positive about the set and sure it would get chosen.
As far as the set goes (and maybe I'll put some of the pics on sometime), we'd already been shooting 6+ hours that day, in 90+ degree weather. I was tired before we started, and we worked till there was no light, about 2 hours just for that set. It wasn't really themed, and I was sooooo tired. We had another set from earlier, but it was weaker, so we were going to try that second. That one at least had a theme and didn't jump around, but the lighting (we were in the woods) wasn't great and it was early in our day. So when he submitted the set (because if he didn't, it wasn't going) he didn't rename the pics, didn't have them in any sort of order, and even made the comment that they were untouched, when they very obviously had been altered. I'd be shocked if I was the only one he tried to bully. But I've already pointed out it wasn't a great set, and I was the only one not convinced it would be liked.... so maybe his issues didn't come into play when the set was rejected.
I'm currently choosing pictures for a set I shot with my best friend. My camera isn't as good as the other guy's, and we don't have a lot of space to work with. We also have to wait till his daughter has gone to bed, so again with the tiredness. I'm hoping I'm the only one who can really spot that. I am comfortable working with him, we have similar taste, and he won't try to bully me, so that's better than a perverted jerk with a good camera. We had some more exciting ideas, but they have to wait until we have more time and his daughter's away... and he usually doesn't have enough notice of that for me to get time off work to come up. When he does have notice, someone else is usually there. *shrug* One of these days we'll get at least one of them done, even if it's just for the sake of getting them shot, and not visible to anyone else. .... I could try to see if the TO photographer would work with me, as far as more space, time, and privacy, but I like working with my friend, and I don't know how they feel about shooting new people.
Anyway, that's my ramble to make up for so much silence. I'll try to actually make my profile later, and maybe say more stuff, but for now, I'm late for work!
