van gogh. van gogh. van gogh. my new lover. seeing his work in person is the most phenomenal and overwhelming experience. the ideal trip: go to amsterdam, visit the van gogh museum, take some philosopher's stones, laze in vondel park for 3 - 4 hours and process vincent (and contemporaries), eat some frites, then go to the torture museum. later you can ogle at some naked bitches and get drunk enough to convince yourself it's ok to jump in the canals. whee! 
the archaeology museum was alright. the artefacts (european spelling, fools) were of mediterranean type stuff. typical lay-people displays. not really impressive. lots of plaster castes. however, i did find a secret library underneath the museum which i spent the rest of the day in. sigh.
i did come back to the u.s. for a reason, right?
