I have never smoked so I have no idea how hard cold turkey is but I wish you luck because that stuff really will kill you and there is so much to live for (such as your kids).
As to opposite attraction, I don't really know because I tend to get on with most people but not really so close to be attracted. I suppose my wife is the closest example I can think of. She is a bit of a glam princess and as you can see from the photo I have been in 1 too many scrums. It can be a strain some times when things get out of sync but overall its worth it.
