Can't sleep. Been up since 2AM. Just watched The Dreamers (2003) on HBO laying in the motel. Movie was good; Ending was really lame. My stomach is upset
and I'm here in South Bend again for one of my monthly trips to the office. I'm sure glad I'll be well rested for another day of work. I just opened my window and I'm sitting on the couch looking out onto the street. I miss not having the dogs to keep me company. I hope Sidney and Anubis haven't torn up the place too bad. They are being watched, so I feel confident that they're ok. I haven't felt good in over a week now. I sure hope that I feel better soon because I haven't got much left.
There's a lot going on with work. Mostly, it just really busy and I'm a bit sressed out over it. It'll pass though by next week. I'm also very excited because my boss seemed pretty enthusiastic regarding my desire to go back to school (part time) to work on my masters.
I turn 30 next month and I suppose that I've been doing a lot of soul searching. I figured that if I don't go back to school now, it will become more difficult do to so later on. I've decided that I love my job at DLZ and want to become the best noise person around. For any of you that don't know what I do, I primarily work with highway noise barriers, though I'm scheduled to take my rail noise training in April. I also work with noise associated with helicopters and airports. So, my infinite wisdom has led me to the next logical step. A masters program in acoustics. My first choice would have been The Ohio State University since I live in Columbus and already have my undergraduate degree from there. (And there football team isn't bad either
). Anyway, they really don't have what I'm looking for, so I had to search elsewhere. After consulting the oracle (aka. Google) I found that Penn State might be just what I'm looking for. They have a distance learning program that I could get a Masters of Engineering in Acoustics. Where do I sign up? Perhaps I'm very excited at another oppurtunity at college.
Well, I'm going to try and take a nap for an hour or so efore I have to get up and go back to work. I get the feeling that this is going to be a long day.
