Okay now, time to get my blog on.
Let's start with my new crush: Melonie Diaz

I've seen her in two movies now and am liking her more and more. She was in Be kind Rewind, Assassination of a High School President and a few other titles. I'm sorry Mary Louise Parker, you were good to me but it's time for me to move on.
I've been in some kind of a funk as of late and I think I'm still under its effects. I guess it's mostly due to the fact that I've been jobless for the longest time since I got my first job. I applied for a position as a technical support specialist for point of sales systems at the ALDO head office in my city. The interview, in my opinion, went pretty well seeing as I went through a human resources rep, the departement manager and the head trainer for said department. Two days later they even asked for my references! It's been two weeks now and still no news. Last week I called in to find out what was going on and was told that I'd be getting a call from the manager by the end of the week. We're Monday, it's 8:10 PM Eastern and still no call. I was even desperate enough to call again this morning at 8:30 AM Eastern and left a message on her machine. I guess I won't be getting any discounts on shoes then.
In other news, I had an interesting weekend, more or less. Let me explain. Friday night I get a call from this girl I've been seeing for the past week and we get to talking about how things are going between us and whatnot. Let me add that I haven't been the most attentive boyfriend in history during that week and she had reason to be concerned/pissed off. We've known each other for a little over two years and got to be good friends and a little over a week ago we decided to give it a try. Seeing as this event occured at the same time as my current funk, she didn't get the best service I could offer. Our outings were "good" but not great and I didn't really feel that much motivated to talk to her over the phone when we weren't together. Might I add that I wasn't desperately looking for a girl friend at the time and was comfortable with my situation. So getting together with her seemed like the "logical" thing to do at the time. I realized that my feelings for her weren't as strong as hers for me and that they wouldn't be changing any time soon. Some people might say that I didn't give it a try and that I didn't wait long enough but my question to them is this: How long is to short or too long to decide if it's going to work between two people?
So, that was my Friday night, reverting back to friend status with a girl. I don't expect her to be calling me back any time soon.
Saturday on the other hand was interesting. Initially I was supposed to participate in this TV reality pilot about the art of picking up girls. I'd gone through a selection process the week before and was chosen to be one of the contestants. The guy who would perform at the different tasks the best would win the prize of going out on a date with a model friend of the big honcho behind all this. Seeing as I'd just made someone unhappy the previous night, I made up some bullshit story about covering for a friend at work to get out of it. (If only that BS was true...) That being said and done, I had the whole Saturday afternoon to do jack shit. But then I logged onto the world famous Facebook and was glad to be reminded about a block party/1st year anniversary of a friend of mine's blog. Truth of a Liar. Catching up on my Scott Pilgrim VS the Universe reading 6 PM rolled around the corner and it was time for me to hop on the bus/metro for a good hour until reaching the said party destination.
Let me say this: I think I've caught the vinyl toy bug.
These toys might just bankrupt me the moment I get my grubby little fingers on some cold hard cash. Earned in a cold hard way of course. Here are a few snapshots inside and out the store.

They make them big too!

Might I also add that I want this shoe. The other foot too please. In my size. 11.

The party was awesome, the people were great and the free Tshirt was off the hook. Plus, I got to meet a few good people that I might be working with (photography-wise) in the future.
Here's the tshirt in question. I'll wear it in a picture at some point in time. For now, I'll just wear it.

I had to leave the party before midnight because I had to meetup with two friends of mine (brothers) who were going on vacation in China for a month. They'd had a little "farewell" dinner in Chinatown. Hand shakes and manly hugs out of the way, I went to join another group of friends who were chillin' like villains in Chinatown for a little Ice Moka/Bubble Tea and a whole lot of conversating.
As I slipped into bed at 3:30 AM, I set my alarm to wake me three hours later seeing as I was a volunteer mechanic for the Tour de L'Ile. It's a yearly event that's been going on for a little over 25 years which entails 20k+ people on their bikes riding a 50KM+ circuit with a crap load of activities. This was the third year I was volunteering and my 5th year participating.
It was hell. It rained from start to finish. I've never felt my knees and ankles ache this much since my last growth spurt. I won't go into much detail but my frozen hands were able to snap the only pictures that I thought were worth capturing. Well actually there was this hot girl with short shorts on a roadie with a mouth watering behind that I thought was worth it but I was busy fixing a busted chain with grease all over my fingers. I like a clean camera. Oh, and the girl had a tattoo that ran the length of both her legs and made it look like she was wearing stockings. You know the type I'm talking about? The one with the stripe/line in the back? Anyways...
Here are the images.

That's it for now.
