music is so subjective. there were so many of them and they were so earnest.
being able to play does not gaurantee you have music. music should be art. art should have poetry. it should have heart And passion.
balls, of course, are optional.
was i watching a christian church band? they were all so Nice. they all took turns. you cant deny the talent of 8 people playing 20 or more instruments.
but.
perhaps someone should occassionally say during rehearsal - "that sounds really crap" or
"fuck off Simon you cant play that for shit".
instead i imagine someone saying:
"wouldn't it be cool if i knocked on my head 3 times at the end of that song"?
the others think it sounds awesome. they like the idea so much it gets a run at the start of the song as well.
they were outside handing out leaflets. i expected them to say "jesus saves".
there was a song "about chandeliers".
another was about "death".
another came about during a journey from adelaide to melbourne and involved a bakery that sold bad coffee.
we were also given a clever tune called 'attic in the basement' or maybe 'basement in the attic'. you get the picture.
intrigued?
no
me neither.
the short sexy girl gets thumbs up for singing with the delight of a child and smiling a lot. she was cute.
good name. i bet they sell a few records.
Give me the real Helsinki any day.
