i went to cinemateque last night. Jim Jarmusch
was there... can you believe it?... the place was
packed, I've never seen it that packed. So he
talked for a couple of hours, people were asking
him all kinds of questions... they also showed a
couple of shorts - one of the "Coffee and Cigarettes"
with Iggy Pop and Tom Waits. and another one
called "10 minutes" or something...
he told this funny story. him and
Roberto Benigni (I guess they're friends) were in
Rome one night, having a good time, going from
bar to bar. so everywhere people where coming up
to Benigni and saying stuff - he's a big star in Italy
and no one was saying anything to him - like he's
just some guy who happened to be there. So as
they're going across some dark piazza, Benigni
sees a couple of young guys in Docs and dirty
trench coats and says to Jarmusch -"
hey Jim those must be your fans!..." and sure
enough the guys come to them and totally brush
Benigni off, and were like "Jarmusch, what are
you doing in Rome, we love you films!..."
pretty funny... I didn't have balls, though to
ask him for an autograph... now, I'm regretting it.

I just wish he would have gone with dignity...
like a real samurai. disappearing into the darkness.
fight like a man, never take shit from anyone.
pride is the only thing you have left....
