So I'm happy to be back in Toronto after a near fatal trip up north. Headed up to a small town 5 hours north of Toronto yesterday morning with my dad and younger brother to deliver some toys to a youth shelter in the town my older brother lives in. Well just north of North Bay Ontario I hit a patch of black ice on a two lane highway. I was doing about 90 km/hr in the northbound lanes when the GMC Yukon I was driving decided to act like a large figure skater. It started to spin to the left ... and I was able to get it partially under control bringing it back to the right ... but it slid across the highway ... and the back left bumper struck the snowbank ... sending the truck into a 180 degree spin to the left. We ended up buried in the snowbank ... just down the embankment from the southbound lanes. Well less than 30 seconds after we crashed ... no less than five transport trucks passed us going southbound at a high rate of speed ... which would have provided a worse result than hitting the snowbank . Luckily we were all ok ... and the truck was undamaged ... we were on our way again within a hour. Just really happy to be still here
