Snowiest January on record. Everyone around me is full of complaints about the snow. I'd like to lodge a complaint against their complaints. The snow is inconvenient yes. It makes some of the routines harder to follow. But doesn't it force us to slow down and pay attention to the world that we live in instead of just rushing through it all? Doesn't it take the familiar world that we so take for granted and give it back to us looking completely different than it has looked before? I'm a fan of re-perceiving the world and looking for something extraordinary in the surroundings that we so often misjudge as being tedious and mundane.
