Holy smokes! I feel like it has been forever and ever since I sat down and properly blogged here. Life has just been a whirlwind of good and bad the last couple of years. I made a cross country move back to the sunshine state! I have now been here nearly 2 years and it's allowed me to meet and work with a number of amazing people I'm so thankful for. I have also been able to attend a few more shootfests, and hope to do more next year - if the world would chill the fuck out a bit for us all. I figured I would take a little trip down memory lane of all my sets that are currently still up in member review. And some peeks at sets I have queued up! Grab some tea and sit back, it's gonna be a long one.
Starting all the way back in 2017, my oldest set that is still up - In Full Bloom by Michael Scott Photo Art:
This is still one of my absolute favorite sets, and I'm so proud of what we were able to create. It was a huge process from beginning to end, and ultimately a whole separate shoot that day ended up getting lost on a broken harddrive so that is a lot of what sticks out about this set/shoot. I remember waking up early as fuck to go to my photog's MUA house prior to going to the shoot location, shooting this set and an absolutely stunning milk bath set that is forever lost to the data gods, spending hours shooting both sets, and hours after at a coffee shop sorting through photos with my photog on both sets. I also remember this being the set that opened my eyes to what other MUA would/could do when playing with makeup and I think really sparked a facination in me to play with all the cool things makeup can do to change our faces.
In the same year I had A Blossom Fell release by @milloux :
This set was shot at the Portland shootfest I arranged the summer prior, I had never been to a shootfest much less hosted one, but I really wanted to shoot with Milloux and meet more local ladies so I essentially planned a shootfest just to be able to finally shoot with Milloux. (I also ended up shooting a multi that was never submitted, and shot a few sets as a photog that are still up on the site as well that shootfest) Listening to Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole while we shot this set and all the dab and chill seshs we all had that weekend. (TAKE ME BAAACK....please)
No Boys Allowed with the amazing @evahunter by Black Rabbit Photography
I absolutely adoreeeeee this BABE! Someone I am so glad to have met through modeling and am able to call a friend. She is so hardworking and sweet. This set was so much fun to shoot and felt very much like our own little pillow-fort slumber party sancturay. So if anything looking back on this set reminds me of all the giggles and booty cuddles that were had and how much I miss my PNW ladies!
Everything The Light Touches by @sunshine
Shooting this set with Sunshine was an actual DREAM, I had admired her work long before I was even a member of the site. We met at a cannabis cup before I even had my first set go up and I always seemed to miss her when she traveled into town until I moved back to FL and was able to shoot with her last year! She is the sweetest soul and so true to her name, and I was lucky enough to also be able to shoot with her again later in the year for 420 Pinups stuff which was a lot of fun and I met so many great local likeminded babes. Also this is one of my mom's favorite sets of me (LMAO)
Next up are the 3 sets I shot at the AZ shootfest last summer, and I love how individually different they all turned out/feel. I also remember all these set as a period of time that was very strange in my life, I had just moved unexpectedly for the second time in that year. Only a week or so after moving up 3 flights of stair (no elevator) basically by myself, I was so bruised up and exhausted and already in pain, but I had planned this trip month before and already had nonrefundable flights and deposits in place. So I went anyways, and as overwhelming as it was at points, being my first solo travel for work, being after a huge move and arguably great loss in my life. I was excited to create with some new people, and I'm so glad I didn't let my anxiety or life's random events get the best of me into canceling.. because otherwise I'd never have these 3 sets to share with you!
Uncaged by @leemalee
While this was the first set of them all I submitted, it was actually the last set I shot on that trip and probably my favorite of them all. I got to room with Leema that trip and so we spent a few days together, and had shot Cerulean Splash beforehand, and I always feel like the more I shoot with one person the better our work together ends up as we learn eachothers eb and flow and vibe more and more. Shooting this set was no exception! I remember getting back these photos DAYS after getting home (Leema is AMAZING) and thinking DAMN who is sheeee?
Teal The Water Runs Cold by @alissa
This was such a fun set to shoot because Alissa is an absolute BALL, the thing that sticks out to me about shooting this you can't see is how absolutely hilarious she is, she had me laughing the whole time both around the house and while shooting. It was also the first set I shot of my AZ trip so I was so happy to be able to kick it off in such a wonderful way. Also FINALLY being able to be in the same spot to have the opportunity to shoot with Alissa, who much like Sunshine, I had admired for years before, was such a dream! I was so impressed by how she worked with each lady so uniquely as I caught other babes shooting around the house or did BTS for other girl's shoots.
Last of my sets from AZ and that are currently in member review - Cerulean Splash by @leemalee
This was the first shoot I got to do with the lovely Leemalee, I'd already seen her shooting other babes and she seemed so easy to work with. I was so stoked to be able to shoot my first cosplay set with someone who also is a lover of cosplay! This has always been my intention for my first cosplay set and I just never found it fitting to shoot anywhere I found myself shooting, as soon as I saw the house had a pool I knew I was bringing all my Misty stuff to AZ, and Leema just happened to bring the duck float which could not have been more perfect! We waited all day for the sun to start going down because holy WOW was AZ hot! I look back at this set as the beginning of a wonderful friendship with a stellar babe who is incredibly inspiring to me. I have been so stoked for this one to finally come out!! I'm so excited to see all the love so far and would absolutely melt (even more than the AZ sun nearly melted me) if this set turned me pink.
The next two sets I have are still in queue but I'll give you a little sneaky peek:
Sweet Escape - by yours truly - in 1 month!
I submitted this set for the SG self shot contest a few months ago, and while it didn't exactly end up in the contest, I'm still super stoked to finally have a set shot in my own space. Something normally impossible because of my needy rescue doggo. It also worked out to come out as the fall approaches as it's a bit more of a cozy feels sort of set.
& Recently queued from my latest shootfest prior to the pandemic - Tennessee Blues by @leemalee - 2 months 3 weeks
I was so stoked to catch up with my babe Leemalee and be able to create this set with her, I really love how it turned out and I think it has a different feel than any of my other sets before. I wanted something very cutesy and smiley. I also just remember being surrounded by encouraging babes while I shot on the couch opposite where I shot, and all of us going out for dinner and coming back to the bnb to drink and bullshit, a night I think about and smile during times like this. I am really looking forward to this hitting member review and being able to share it with you all!
